This is my favorite tree along the lakeshore here. It turns this bright crimson color in fall, and I love the twists and turns of the trunk.

I painted this with my new little pochade box! It is the Guerrilla Painter Thumbox with the palette extension and watercolor palette. I filled the watercolor palette up with oil paints. That palette gets covered with the mixing palette, so the paints stay wet and it’s really fast to set up. Here’s a picture of the new box with a progress image of the painting:

This is great little set-up! I am thinking of picking one up one of these boxes for acrylics. What size supports can it handle?

Hi Deborah. This is the Guerrilla Painter Thumb Box, with the “watercolor” setup. That includes the palette extension and the covered palette. Although this palette is designed for watercolors, I love it for oils. The box can hold four wet, 6×8″ paintings. You can paint up to 12″ wide with it; the box comes with a bungee cord/clip device that loops around the outside to secure a larger panel. You’d need a different panel carrier to carry the wet painting. There is also an adapter you can get for 5×7″ paintings.

What a wonderful idea!! I’ll keep this in mind for next year.
The painting is beautiful!

Thanks so much for the reply! I went ahead and ordered the acrylic set up. It comes with the slip easel.. Can’t wait to get it!
LOVE your work!
